Kaja Beauty Tigers Eye & Rose Quartz Moon Crystal Sparkling Eye Pigments Reviews & Swatches4/28/2019 ![]() Tiger's EyeKaja Tiger’s Eye Moon Crystal Sparkling Eye Pigment ($16.00 for 0.29 oz.) is a medium-dark, taupe-brown with subtle, golden olive pearl and faint sparkle. It had opaque pigmentation that applied evenly and smoothly to my lid, and it blended out nicely along the edges without sheering out too readily. The consistency was more mousse-like, as it was thicker but airy enough not to feel heavy on my lid, but a little went a long way. It dried down very quickly, so I recommend working one area at a time as well. On my lid, it started to crease slightly after eight and a half hours of wear. Top Dupes
Formula Overview$16.00/0.29 oz. - $55.17 Per Ounce The formula is supposed to be a "weightless, jelly eyeshadow" that has "full-pigment" and "high-impact sparkle" that "dries to a powder" for longwear. Of the four shades I tried, they were blendable, fairly pigmented, and long-wearing, but the struggle was in the application and in getting a smooth, even layer. I was only able to get one shade, Tiger's Eye, to blend out evenly, while the other three I tried had a tendency to clump up as I applied and blended them out. They worked better applied all over a larger space with a fingertip than with brushes or to smaller areas; being able to spread and really work the product across the larger area prevented them from getting noticeably uneven. Once applied, they set quickly (definitely work one area at a time) to a powder-like finish that stayed in place for about eight and a half hours before I noticed creasing/flaking (the ones that went on unevenly were more likely to flake off). ![]() Rose QuartzKaja Rose Quartz Moon Crystal Sparkling Eye Pigment ($16.00 for 0.29 oz.) is a medium, reddish-copper with warmer, copper-brown base pigment and lighter, rose and red-copper sparkle and micro-glitter. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that didn’t build up well. The product itself dispersed with noticeable chunkiness where the product seemed to ball up on itself, which showed up on my lid during application. I found it difficult to apply with brushes or to small areas (my fingertips are too large for precision); it was only decent applied to a larger area, like all over the lid, with fingertips as the warmth and pressure seemed to help smooth it out a little more. It tended to emphasize my lid texture and separated into my crease, even when I used fingertips, but wasn’t the disaster it looked when I used a brush. It did not work well layered as that definitely created a chunky, uneven surface and caused some of the initial layer to flake off. There were a couple of flakes that had fallen off after eight hours of wear. Top Dupes

You can check out more looks from community members and myself here, or you can submit your own! Most LovedMost Recent Looksvia https://www.temptalia.com/readers-favorites-april-21st-through-april-27th/ ![]() Inspire (23)Sephora Inspire (23) Rouge Lacquer ($13.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a brighter, peachy-oranger with strong, warm undertones and a cream finish. It had semi-opaque color payoff that adhered unevenly and clumped along imperfections on my lips (and I did exfoliate prior!). The texture was creamy, emollient, and slippery, so I could feel the product moving around while worn. This shade stayed on well for two and a half hours but there was a fair amount of color that settled into my lip lines over that time; at least the formula was lightly moisturizing! Top Dupes
Formula Overview$13.00/0.1 oz. - $130.00 Per Ounce The lipstick is supposed to have a "silky smooth melting formula" that yields "intense long-lasting color and high-shine" with "instant hydration." Most shades were creamy without being so slippery that they felt that way or went on unevenly. They do melt quickly, though, so if they are left in a warmer area (with all my photography lights running) and applied, they feel substantially creamier than at room temperature (about 72 degrees). The texture was smooth, creamy, and comfortable to apply and to wear with most of the shades applying well, though lighter and very deep shades tended to have application problems. The lighter shades tended to separate and sit in my lip lines, while deeper shades were less pigmented and more prone to patchiness (but didn't pull into my lip lines as noticeably as the lighter shades did). The majority of the shades had semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation with a few coming in at more medium to semi-opaque coverage. As there are 30 shades in the range, wear time definitely varied from three to six hours, depending on depth and pigment level with deeper, redder shades lasting longer than pale beiges and peaches. The formula has been moderately hydrating without feathering on me so far, but I'm not particularly prone to that but would worry about it for those who find it a more frequent occurrence with some of the deeper shades in the lineup. They had a scent that Sephora lists as having these notes: "vanilla, peony, and intrepid patchouli," and I'd describe the scent as a subtle, sweet, vanilla-floral hybrid mix (nothing specific to my nose) and on most shades, I didn't notice a taste but some shades gave me a bit of one (enough that I was like, "hmm"). ![]() To the Left (24)Sephora To the Left (24) Rouge Lacquer ($13.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a light-medium, pink-peach with warm undertones and a cream finish. It had semi-opaque color coverage that did not build up beyond there–the creamier, more emollient texture didn’t lend itself to building either, as then it felt slipper and thicker on my lips. The lipstick was creamy, quick to melt against my lips, and glided easily across my lips but the product applied unevenly, caught on imperfections on my lips, and settled noticeably into my lip lines, which only worsened over the three hours it lasted for. The formula was lightly moisturizing, though. Top Dupes

![]() Go Girl (22)Sephora Go Girl (22) Rouge Lacquer ($13.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a medium-dark peach with warm undertones and a cream finish. It had good color coverage, but it wasn’t opaque, so my natural lip color came through and gave it a slightly rosier look overall. The consistency was smooth, creamy with moderate slip, and comfortable to apply and to wear as it never dragged. There was more of a semi-matte finish that looked skin-like rather than flat or powdery. The texture was smooth, silky, and soft enough to pick up easily on my brush and blended out well on my skin but not enough that it became excessively powdery in the pan. The pigmentation was opaque in a single layer, but it was easy to use a lighter hand or less-dense brush for more buildable coverage if preferred. It wore well for eight hours on me before fading noticeably. Top Dupes

![]() Best & Worst of MAC Strip Down Collection ![]() Best & Worst of MAC Strip Down Collection via https://www.temptalia.com/best-worst-of-mac-strip-down-collection/ ![]() The new, NARS Orgasm Collection, might have been intended as the 20th anniversary celebration of cult product, Orgasm Blush, but it fell rather short of anything resembling a real celebration. I’d argue that the Endless Orgasm Palette was the “star” of the launch, and it was the worst of the collection and certainly on track to be on at least a few worst-of-2019 lists. When the product you’re celebrating is a blush, and you put out a palette full of products designed to be used on the cheeks (and eyes and lips), you’d think it would, at least, be a stellar cream blush but no. The new Orgasm Lip Tint is decent but for many, not particularly memorable or so much better than a slew of other, pink-tinted glosses on the market. I think the fact that the Orgasm Liquid Highlighter wasn’t very practical to use as a standalone highlighter (like on cheekbones) is going to cut its potential audience down–it did work well on the body, where it was easier to stretch out a drop or two without worrying about precision or base products.

![]() Best & Wrost NARS Orgasm Collection (Summer 2019) ![]() Best & Wrost NARS Orgasm Collection (Summer 2019) via https://www.temptalia.com/best-wrost-nars-orgasm-collection-summer-2019/ ![]() Let’s see how well the Kaja Beauty Bento Bouncy Shimmer Eyeshadow Trios ($21.00 for 0.09 oz.) performed now that all the reviews have been published. The eyeshadow formula is supposed to have “uniform shimmer in every swipe” that is best applied “with your fingers.” They have a dimethicone-heavy feel (unsurprising given it was typically the first ingredient in each shade), so there’s a velvety slip that is lightly emollient but not truly wet or cream-like to the touch. I found them to be more powder-like than cream-like, but they had the binding and hold of a creamier formula. They applied well to bare skin without the need of primer, adhesive sprays, or glitter glue for pretty stellar wear–they often lasted between eight and 10 hours on me with slight fallout. I more often saw faint creasing after eight hours than much in the way of fallout. Fingertips will definitely yield the most pigmented the quickest, but I didn’t struggle to use brushes (my preferred method for precision) and found that brushes often packed semi-opaque or opaque coverage as well. I also tried them wet and didn’t find that to cause issues to the pan, and it did give some shades a smoother, shinier finish but wasn’t necessary to use them (more like a bonus). I didn’t have issues with fallout whether I used my fingertips or brushes to apply; I pressed and gently pulled the brush across my lid area to distribute the product (same technique I use for high-shimmer/metallic shades). They were impressive; they were magical–if you love sparkly, shiny eyeshadows, they’re well worth a look!

It had good pigmentation in a single layer, but it didn’t apply as evenly as desired given that the product clumped up along any imperfections on my lips. The texture was lightweight, creamy with moderate slip, and comfortable to apply and to wear, but there was product that settled into my lip lines while worn. It lasted well for four hours and was lightly hydrating over time.
![]() No Regrets (21)Sephora No Regrets (21) Rouge Lacquer ($13.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a muted, rosy brown with subtle, warm undertones and a glossy, cream finish. For as much as slip as the formula had, the color went on fairly evenly and didn’t settle into my lip lines as much as I would have expected. It had good pigmentation in a single layer that applied without dragging. The lipstick had a lightly creamy, balm-like feel as it went across my lips that melted quickly. It stayed on nicely for four hours and was lightly moisturizing while worn. Top Dupes
