![]() Here’s a roundup of all of the NABLA Cosmetics Skin Glazing Highlighter ($26.00 for 0.23 oz.) reviews! It’s a fantastic gel-powder kind of powder highlighter that seemed to be a little softer than the average formula. I loved the finish; it was incredibly glowing, buildable (in the glow), and sat well on my skin. They were pigmented, easy to work with, and long-wearing–all in all, a nice highlighter formula to have around. ![]() Melt Cosmetics Amor Eterno Collection launched yesterday (officially!), and here’s a roundup of all the reviews for the pieces in the collection. I wish I could say it was impressive across the board, but I ended up having a so-so experience with a lot of the shades. The highlighter performed beautifully (and was the, ahem, highlight! of the launch for me), and I think the gel eyeliners have a great texture but work even better as cream eyeshadows/bases. The liquid lipsticks were a miss for me, and the palettes were fussy; they’ll be better suited for those who have less-dry lids, don’t care much about how the shimmers perform, and are willing to spend more time on their eye makeup. It has a far larger range than one might think, at a glance, because the full range is hard to find at any one retailer–this I’ve learned as after swatching 41 more shades (bringing up my total to 60!), there are 24 additional shades floating around. (I’ve purchased 20 or so–hopefully–from Walgreens.) Here are swatches of 20 of those 41… Revlon Super Lustrous LipsticksGallery Options

They make it hard for me to spend points because so often there is some event going on, LOL!

via https://www.temptalia.com/what-retailer-has-the-best-rewards-loyalty-program/ ![]() Palette 03Natasha Denona Palette 03 Eyeshadow Palette 5 ($48.00 for 0.4 oz.) Back story: I purchased all of the 5-pan palettes a few months ago to re-review because if there’s a brand that has a more constant, evolving formula… it is Natasha Denona (the ingredient list is substantially different today compared to the original release and even from a few years ago). I have better experiences with the more updated formulas, so it seemed like a good way to test the current formula as well as get updated swatches. This week, the brand is running buy one, get one free on the 5-pan palettes… so… here we are… frantically reviewing them! Leave a comment with which one of the original 13 you are most desperate to see re-reviewed, and I will endeavor to make it so! ![]()

![]() Steel Blue (11V)Steel Blue (11V) is a muted, medium blue with subtle, cool undertones and a matte finish. It had medium color coverage that was buildable to mostly opaque coverage with a second layer. The texture was finely-milled, smooth, and almost velvety, but the Creamy Matte formula is superior to this one because this shade had a tendency to sheer out and had some fallout during application. I’d recommend using a lighter hand to minimize fallout (as well as excess kicked up in the pan). It lasted well for eight hours on me before I noticed slight fading. The newer version seemed a bit darker and less cool-toned, and while it had a more finely-milled, silkier feel to the touch, there was still a similar level of powderiness and a tendency to sheer out. The newer version was still quite a bit better than the one I had previously (which was rated an F). Top Dupes

![]() Chromatic (04M)Chromatic (04M) is a bright, light silver with cool undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. It had rich color coverage in a single layer with a fairly smooth, lightly creamy texture that was dense without being overly emollient. The denseness helped bind the larger sparkles with the rest of the product so there was very little fallout. It wore well for eight and a half hours on m and had a smidgen of fallout over time. It appeared slightly deeper with more dimensional shimmer/micro-sparkle through it, so it looked more metallic. The texture felt a bit more sparkly to the touch, so not as “smooth” in that sense compared to the original, and it also had less slip (in a good way, in my experience!). Top Dupes
Formula Overview$29.00/0.08 oz. - $362.50 Per Ounce The majority of the brand's eyeshadows are quite pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing. The eyeshadows have improved over time, particularly with respect to longevity (without a primer). The original formula often creased on me within seven to eight hours, whereas the more current formula wears eight to nine hours with fading (instead of full-on creasing). The more matte finishes tend to be a bit more velvety, substantial, and less dry/powdery compared to prior iterations. The metallic finish is often the creamiest, slightly denser in feel, but has excellent pigmentation, adhesion, and blendability. The sparkling shades can have some fallout, depending on how they're applied and how sparkly they are, so they sometimes work better with fingertips or a dampened brush; they can also run sheerer compared to other finishes. Cream-Powders are the more unique formulation and tend to have firmer, almost stiff, consistencies and more semi-opaque, watercolor-esque coverage. They are longer-wearing, but they can take a few uses to learn how to use. This formula has also improved compared to when it first debuted--it is a bit more yielding now. ![]() Metallic Steel Blue (11M)Metallic Steel Blue (11M) is a muted, medium-dark blue with cool undertones and a soft, metallic sheen. It had nearly opaque color coverage in one layer, which could be built up to full coverage with less than half of a layer more. The consistency was smooth to the touch, but it was a little dense and somewhat firm, which made it work best with a flat, synthetic brush and pressing/pushing motions on the lid to get an even lay down of product. It stayed on nicely for eight hours before fading visibly on me. The color was just about the same (possibly a smidgen darker), while the texture was more blendable, slightly softer but not as thick/heavy on. It was similar to the previous version in terms of overall performance, too. Top Dupes

The eyeshadow had decent pigmentation that was buildable to full coverage with less than a second layer. The texture was lightly powdery in the pan, but it applied evenly and blended out without too much effort. It lasted well for eight hours before showing signs of fading on my eye. ![]() Cloudy Blue (17M)Cloudy Blue (17M) is a medium, cooler blue base with warmer, green-to-gold shifting shimmer that gave it a more frosted finish. The texture was drier with light dustiness, and it definitely felt “dried out” compared to the original, but with a dampened brush, I was able to get more depth and better application. It had opaque pigmentation in a single layer but there was a bit of fallout. This shade wore well for eight hours on me before fading visibly. This was one of the few shades that I felt went backwards, even though it lasted better on bare skin, the coverage was weaker with a drier texture that didn’t adhere as well as the older formula did for me. It lost some of its dimension as a result, too. Top Dupes

Those are great dishes but to Long and Quyen Trinh – husband and wife duo and owners of Anise Modern Vietnamese Eatery – they are very basic and quite overdone here in the US. “Vietnamese food is so much more than that,” stated Long, “our goal is to introduce people to authentic Vietnamese food,” he said.
The couple is from Vietnam and introduces guests to the type of food they grew up eating and cooking in their own home with Quyen as the executive chef. She grew up working in the food service industry in Saigon then trained at Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts in Boulder after moving to the US. While studying she overcame the hurdles of not only being a female in the industry but a foreigner as well. “It was hard for me to understand many of the educators’ American accents,” said Quyen, which often led her to be overlooked by many of the chefs. “Once I showed them I can cook well they started to respect me,” she explained. While studying she learned American techniques and how to merge them with the Vietnamese techniques she grew up practicing. After working at several restaurants around Denver – including Cholon, Cherry Hills Country Club and Olive and Finch – she decided that she wanted to open her own restaurant to pursue her passion, her way. “When I create the menu I cook from my heart, I don’t think about pleasing other people,” stated Quyen. She knows that if she does this, everything else will fall into place. Click to view slideshow.Anise has been open for about six months in the Golden Triangle area of Denver and already has many regular guests that love the authenticity of the food and hospitality of Long and Quyen. You’ll likely find Long taking orders, serving food or bartending while Quyen cooks and creates in the kitchen. Photographs of Vietnam– taken by Long – adorn the walls and prove that the couple is extremely passionate about their home country and bringing an authentic experience to guests. Anise’s menu is fairly short and easy to navigate – which makes it great for first timers. You’ll find appetizers like crispy pork rolls and vegan spring rolls along with a couple of salads, soups and noodle dishes and three types of pho – beef, chicken and vegan. You’ll see that the most authentic – and the best, according to Long – items are bolded. These are items you likely won’t find on many other menus like the house original Anise beef rolls ($8.95), shrimp cakes ($8.95) and Lavong style fish ($19.95). “We invented the beef roll. You won’t find it on other Vietnamese menus,” said Long – typical Vietnamese restaurants use pork, shrimp or vegetables in rolls. Anise also makes it easy to find the vegan and gluten-free items on the menu which include items like crispy tofu ($6.95), the Anise vegan special ($19.95) and tofu lemongrass noodles ($14.95). Click to view slideshow.Whatever your opinion of Vietnamese food is, Anise is worth checking out. Is authentic dishes, amazing hospitality, spacious dining room and full bar make it the perfect place for taking a date or watching a game with friends. Anise is located at 865 N Lincoln St., Denver.
