FortuneColour Pop Fortune 16-Pan Eyeshadow Palette ($22.00 for 0.64 oz.) is a new warm-toned set of shades in various finishes and depths. I felt that the palette was cohesive, and it was slightly more red/plum-based compared to past ColourPop palettes (which have read more golden or more orange to my eye). For those who haven’t picked up palettes in similar color schemes, it would be a nice one to consider.

CREAMCREAM is a soft, light-medium gold with warm, orange undertones and a pearly sheen. The pigmentation was opaque in a single layer, while the texture was soft, smooth, and cream-like. It applied well to bare skin and blended out effortlessly. This shade wore well for eight and a half hours on me. Top Dupes
Formula Overview$5.00/0.04 oz. - $125.00 Per Ounce The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours. The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush. Browse all of our Colour Pop Pressed Powder Shadow swatches. IngredientsBoron Nitride, Dimethicone, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Lauroyl Lysine, Magnesium Stearate, Talc, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Dimethiconol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Hexylene Glycol, Bismuth Oxychloride (CI 77163), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492), Mica (CI 77019), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891). BenBen is a light-medium, yellowed peach with warm undertones and a matte finish. The consistency was soft, smooth, and blendable with just a touch of powderiness in the pan. It had opaque color payoff that applied well to bare skin and stayed on well for eight hours on me. Top Dupes

OracleOracle is a soft, peachy gold with warm undertones and a metallic finish. The texture was drier and more loosely-pressed, which resulted in sheerer color coverage that was better applied with a dampened brush. It stayed on well for seven and a half hours on me. Top Dupes

JackpotJackpot is a medium-dark plum with warm, copper undertones and a metallic finish. This shade had an incredibly cream-like texture that felt almost like it melted upon touch! I was worried it might not apply well to bare skin or with brushes, but thankfully, I was wrong–it applied beautifully and lasted for nine hours on me. Top Dupes

Strike ItStrike It is a deep plum with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque, buildable color coverage that applied fairly evenly to bare skin but did take slightly more effort to diffuse and blend out compared to other shades in the palette–not bad at all for a deeper, matte shade like this in general, though. The color stayed on well for eight hours before fading noticeably. Top Dupes

In early May, NYC’s famed Death & Co opened a Colorado location in the gorgeous and vast lobby of Denver’s Ramble Hotel. With a daytime cafe, two interior bars, a venue and now outdoor garden bar, this acclaimed and highly anticipated space has truly brought their A-game to the Mile High City. The announcement of The Garden comes just in time for warmer weather. It will be located on the mezzanine level of The Ramble Hotel — and with an emphasis on casual presentation, excellent drinks and seasonal options, it’s looking like the perfect place to spend a June afternoon or evening. Lead by beverage director Tyson Buhler, the drinks will highlight the essence of summer-time with bright colors and refreshing flavors in a lush setting. It’s supposed to be a “sheer wash” of color with a “radiant finish” paired with hydrating ingredients (like monoi oil). The texture was smooth, lightly creamy, and had a moderate amount of slip–in short, it felt like an emollient lip balm that slid around on my lips while worn (but was comfortable to wear). The base color was sheer as described, but it yielded a noticeable sheen, light shimmer, and a barely-there pink tint. For someone who has naturally pinker or redder lips, I wouldn’t expect much effect or impact, though. The formula was lightly hydrating, but I found I preferred a lot of other lip balms over this for actual hydration. The shine and most of the shimmer seemed to disappear within a couple of hours. I didn’t notice any scent or taste. Top Dupes

via https://www.temptalia.com/best-matte-bronzers-2018-top-10-share-your-favorites/ As the weather gets warmer and more trails open for hiking, you will probably want to know the best trails to hike on with your dog. Even though Coloradans love their dogs, not every trail is dog-friendly. For the best trick and tips about hiking with your dog make sure to read our guide here. Before setting out, be aware that some of these hikes and parks are not free. Some require payment for parking and others require you to pay an entrance fee. However, these small fees are in place to help keep the land safe and clean so that they are available to you and your pup to enjoy.
So, did someone say “walk?” Grab those leashes, fill up on water, pack some treats and get your dog into open space this summer, with our list of dog-friendly trails that you and your furry friend can have access to. Glendale Farm Trail at Douglas County Open SpaceThis 1.6 mile loop can be accessed at a trailhead located at 12300 S Havana Street. The easy trail is open to dogs on a leash and after you finish the loop you can let your dog off leash in a 17-acre dog park. The trail is open during all seasons and is only about 40 minutes away from Denver. It’s the perfect spot for dogs who like to run and for humans who prefer a moderate workout. Platte River Greenway Trail in DenverIf you don’t want to leave the city this trail is your best bet. The trail is right along the Platte River and brings you on a five-hour hike that leads to a beach by the water. The Adams County area used to be full of agricultural businesses so you can still catch a glimpse of some farms and sweet views. Mary Carter Greenway Trail in LittletonThis trail is also a good match if you aren’t looking to drive too far. It’s only about 15 minutes outside of Denver, making it a fast trip for great views. The 8-mile stretch follows a section of the South Platte River, which might bring some cooler temperatures in the summer heat, but the path is mostly paved. While you’re down there, you can take a stroll through Littleton’s downtown area too. Barr Lake State ParkThis park features one trail that is dog-friendly. You can hike on the 8.9-mile Lake Perimeter Trail and keep your dog on a leash for a “ruff” adventure. The park is near Brighton and serves as a wildlife preserve, so be warned that dogs are not allowed in any area considered a refuge for those animals. If you’re wanting to take a gander beyond the Lake Perimeter Trail, you’ll have to leave the pup at home. Apex Park TrialsApex Park Trails offer a 6.7-mile loop comprised of the Enchanted Forest Trail and the Pick N’ Sledge Trail. The loop is right outside of Golden and is very popular. Dogs are allowed on the trail, however, they must be leashed and not afraid of bicycles zooming past. Mount SanitasTake a 45-minute drive out of Denver to Mount Sanitas for a moderate to easy hike. You can pick between a 2-mile hike or a 3.1-mile hike and take your time to look at the views. Dogs are allowed on a leash on the loop and the trail is open all year round. North Cheyenne Cañon ParkYou can wander around 56 miles of trails at North Cheyenne Cañon Park. The park is in Colorado Springs near Helen Hunt Falls. You can pick how difficult you want your hike to be as there are trails ranging from easy to hard. Make sure to keep your dog on a leash at all times due to wildlife activity. Elk Range TrailThis dog-friendly trail is an easy 6.6-mile hike that you can wear out your dog on. The trail is located in Centennial Cone Park close to Golden. Make sure to plan on hiking on odd-numbered weekend days as the trail is closed on even-numbered weekend days for bikers. Greenland Open Space Trail Near LarkspurThis trail loop is dog-friendly if you keep your pup on a leash. You can hike the easy trail for up to 10 miles if you please and view the gorgeous grasslands of Colorado. The trail is about an hour outside of Denver located just on the outskirts of Larkspur. Devil’s Backbone Nature TrailTake a Drive near Loveland and hike on the 4.3-mile Devil’s Backbone Nature Trail. The trail is extremely popular and an easy hike, so be aware of other hikers with dogs on your journey. Dogs must be kept on leashes but are welcome to join your adventures. Forsythe Canyon to Waterfall and Gross ReservoirThis 2.2-mile trail is located close to the friendly and old-school hippie town of Nederland and features gorgeous views and a lake to cool you and your pup down when you reach it. The trail ranges from easy to moderate and is very popular, especially with families. There’s even an updated trailhead with a restroom, which you might need after driving from Denver. Rainbow LakesFor another hike near Nederland, and a short drive on the scenic Peak to Peak highway, head to Rainbow Lakes for an easy 2.6-mile hike. The trail features a journey to a lake where you can take a dip to wash off your sweat. The trail is heavily trafficked so make sure your dog is comfortable around people and other animals. Hessie TrailheadThis trailhead features more than 10 different trails to follow, from the easy to hard skill levels. Each of the trails is dog-friendly but make sure to keep your canine on a leash. The trailhead is located near Nederland and right by another hiking location, Mineral Mountain trailhead, which also allows dogs. Expect to park up to a few miles away from the trailhead on busy summer weekends, making even the shortest hike more than four miles. Frazer Meadow Trail in GoldenThis gorgeous hike is right inside of the Golden Gate Canyon State Park. You can try four different trails at different difficulties to burn off your dog’s energy and get your miles in. The trail is right near Golden, which is an easy trek from Denver, so no worries about complicated drives. Hermit Park Open SpaceThis open space located in Estes Park features a myriad of trails. You can choose from 13 miles of trails ranging from easy to moderate skill level. You should make it a weekend trip as the park features a campground, a picnic area and more. The trailhead is right outside of Golden. White Ranch Park in GoldenThis is the largest open space park in Jefferson County and has six different dog-friendly trails for you to choose from, covering over 20 miles. You can take the easiest route, the 2.95-mile Sawmill Trail or one of the hardest, the 9-mile Belcher Hill Trail. Make sure you pick up after pup and keep them on a leash. Bicyclists on this route must yield to all other users, but still stay aware while on the trail — you don’t want your dog getting scared or jumping on anyone. Eldorado Canyon State Park – Walker RanchEldorado Canyon State Park has six trails that are available to dog owners. Come Friday, June 1 at 7 a.m., the newest iteration will open its doors in LoDo. This one is a bit different, though. Instead of a collection of restaurants from several chefs, Milk Market is the product of one company: Bonanno Concepts. Led by Frank Bonanno, the long-time Denver chef and restaurateur, he is no stranger to openings. In fact, he loves them. Even with his newest beast — which include 15 (soon to be 16) concepts —building a new addition to his empire thrilled him. “It was probably the most fun I’ve ever had cooking,” said he in reference to opening Milk Market. Bonanno, who is consistently hands-on, explained he loved bouncing around from station to station — tinkering with recipes and learning how to craft each dish to his specification. “I was super obsessive about the way they build the burger. Like I don’t want the cheese melted… because texturally when it melts, it gets really thin. It was just really important to me — finding the perfect potato roll and the butcher sauce,” he explained. The SpaceClick to view slideshow.Frank isn’t alone in his endeavor. His wife and partner Jacqueline, who’s designed the interiors of restaurants in the Bonanno empire, took the project to new heights. Constructed in part with Cynthia Steinbrecher of Davis Partnership Architects and the Bonanno team, they inserted personal touches in every inch of the 18,000-square-foot space. This includes approximately 30 different types of tile including a hand laid floor made of hundred of pennies at S&G Salumeria. The pennies serve a larger purpose — with each spot having a “good luck” in the form of some design element or object. Similarly, each food stall has a familial tie — a long time tradition of the Bonnano’s who have named restaurants after their kids (for example Luca). “Because each concept is rooted in a family member, a favorite trip or a dining experience, it was impossible to not approach the physical embodiment of each without a lot of love and care,” said Jacqueline. “The design is not only meant to be engaging and fun for the guest, but it is also a love note to every memory that each space represents.” Two concepts including Albina by the Sea and Ruth’s Butchery are named after Frank and Jacqueline’s grandmothers — respectively. “Albina was a Brooklynite in a penthouse and Ruth was a farmer in Upstate New York and here they are facing each other on this corner,” she said in reference to the two food stalls. ” I hope this is a legacy piece.” Local artists also played a big role in the market, including pieces by friends of the Bonannos. Throughout the space, you’ll find art pieces big and small — like the huge Moo sign above the main cocktail bar by The Public Works or the lifesavers behind MoPoke by Jennifer Hendrick. On the alley of the space, you’ll find a painting of a milkman which harkens back to market’s history as Windsor Dairy — which opened in the same space 100 years ago in 1918. “… just as Windsor Dairy nourished the community with its dairy products, we strive to do the same with a focus on family, community and a love of celebration within our doors,” said Frank. The FoodClick to view slideshow. While the design features may be plentiful — food and drink can we found everywhere you turn. With 15 concepts open (the alley’s late night pizza place, Engine Room, opens mid-summer), the expansive space feels crammed with options. Inside you’ll find three bars — each dedicated to a different form of booze. There’s the Moo Bar that focuses on cocktails, the Stranded Pilgrim with beer and Cellar that offers wine by the bottle or the glass. On tap at Stranded Pilgrim, you can find taproom-only beers including a tomatillo sour from Odell and Frank’s Honey Blonde – which was brewed exclusively for Denver Milk Market by Great Divide Brewing Company. For the health conscious you can pick up bites from The Green Huntsman for salads, drinking vinegar and nitrogenized green tea or MoPoke for fresh poke bowls. If you’re there early, you can stop by Morning Jones, the coffee shop for pastries. Lou’s Hot and Naked (which is a remake of the old Lou’s Food Bar) will also have some brunch items including chicken and biscuits. Make sure to stick around for lunch and dinner though as Lou’s is churning out some serious sandwiches with its Nashville hot chicken (it was our favorite bite of the night). If you want to make some stuff at home, the Milk Market has plenty of packaged goods to take with you. This includes fresh pasta and sauce from Mano Pastaria (which also serves dine-in pasta dishes), S&G Salumeria for deli meats, fresh mozzarella (along with huge sandwiches) and Ruth’s Butchery or Albina at the Sea for deli case items, as well as, hot sandwiches and fish-focused dishes — for dine-in meals (respectively). If you’re still not full, you can head to Bao Chica Bao for ramen and bao buns, Fem for crepes or a whole pie at Bonanno Brothers Pizza. Then you can finish the night on a sweet note with boozy milkshakes, sundaes and gelato at Cornicello. -- Falling in line with our increasingly option-filled lives, Milk Market caters to a wide range of appetites. It’ll be hard to find at least one thing you’re craving at the new LoDo hub — that is if you can even decide on where and what to eat in the first place. But as consumers of never-ending variety, today’s shopper is increasingly accustomed to making decisions — to the point that having this much choice might not only be comfortable but expected. Milk Market is located at 1800 Wazee St., #100, Denver. It opens June 1 at 7 a.m. with normal hours from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily with Morning Jones at Lou’s opening at 7 a.m. and Moo Bar, Mano and Stranded Pilgrim open until 11 p.m. Milk Market will host a weekend-long opening celebration from Friday, June 1 through Sunday, June 3. Many of the events are free and open to the public. For a full list of events, visit Denver Milk Market’s Facebook page. It had semi-sheer coverage, but the major issue with this shade was that the sparkles didn’t bind with the base color, so they dropped during application and had little longevity. The texture was dense–too firm, so it became harder to pick-up product with my brush–and hard to work with. The base color seemed to last six hours, but what little sparkles translated onto the lid fell off within two hours of wear. Top Dupes
Formula Overview$8.00/0.04 oz. - $200.00 Per Ounce The formula is supposed to be "highly pigmented" and wear for "10 hours" while being blendable and layerable. There are three finishes, and I found that the quality did differ depending on the finish more than anything else. The glitter finish was comprised of a mix of more matte and glitter-packed shades, where glitter would fallout during application and often were under-pigmented, along with denser, more silicone-heavy glittery shades with the latter applying and holding up better on the lid as it adhered better, though they typically didn't have great pigmentation. The matte eyeshadows were medium to opaque in coverage but often buildable with fairly soft, thinner textures with some powderiness, though there were some definite winners in the bunch. The shimmer eyeshadows were more often quite pigmented with moderately dense, smooth textures that were easy to use, but there were a few that had a little too much slip or were too dry and so application wasn't impressive without a dampened brush or an eyeshadow primer underneath it. The wear was between six and eight hours. Each eyeshadow can be lifted out of the compact by opening using the second opening along the bottom of the compact. The lip of the first opening is what keeps the eyeshadow in place within the compact itself. I thought it was clever and made for easy removal, though the overall component felt a little lightweight to the point that it did feel flimsy. These are a revamp of the previous Colorful Eyeshadow range, which ran for $10.00 but contained 0.07 oz. or $142.86/oz. while the new ones are $190.48/oz. I think these would be more viable if the price point was $6.00, which would have made them the same price per ounce as the previous formula. The $8.00 price point makes them more expensive than MAC and on par with Anastasia (both of which have more eyeshadow per pan, too), but the Sephora house brand has always seemed to priced below mid-end, so the price point on this doesn't quite make sense. Sweet Candy (260)Sephora Sweet Candy (260) Colorful Eyeshadow ($8.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a soft pink with subtle, warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It had good color payoff that applied evenly to bare skin. The texture was slightly thinner, so it took more of a pressing and patting motion to get it to adhere well to my lid. The color stayed on well for seven and a half hours on me. Top Dupes

Cotton Candy (342)Sephora Cotton Candy (342) Colorful Eyeshadow ($8.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a medium-dark pink with warm undertones and a satin finish. The color payoff was good, though shy of opaque, and it had a denser, stiffer texture that applied better with a flat, synthetic brush and pressing motions. It wore well for seven and a half hours on me before fading.
I didn’t detect any scent or taste, but vanillin is listed as an ingredient, so I’d expect that those with better noses may detect a subtle vanilla scent.

SingleSingle is a light green with subtle, warm undertones and fine green and gold pearl. It had sheer coverage, as expected, which applied fairly evenly across my lips, but the shimmer didn’t disperse quite as well as the other two shades. From afar, it wasn’t noticeable, though. The gloss had a smooth, non-sticky texture that was comfortable and lightweight to wear. It lasted for three hours and was moisturizing while worn. Top Dupes

BilingualBilingual is a soft, peachy-orange with warm, yellow undertones and flecks of peach, pink, and gold sparkle and finer pearl. It had sheer coverage that applied without streaking, and the sparkles dispersed well across my lips, but there was a bit of product that sat in my lip lines, though I didn’t feel like it was noticeable from a normal viewing distance. The texture was smooth, thin without being too clingy, and comfortable on my lips. It wore well for three hours on me and was hydrating to wear. Top Dupes

Ready to MingleReady to Mingle is a medium-dark lavender with subtle, cool undertones and flecks of larger blue-to-violet sparkle and finer pink and blue pearl. It had sheer coverage but had a noticeable tint to the base, so it deepened my natural lip color and made it appear cooler in tone. The texture was smooth, lightweight, and comfortable to wear, as it was lightly hydrating over the four hours it lasted for. Top Dupes

Edison will bid farewell to the world with a final Colorado show this summer. The local band has been bringing haunting guitar strums, full vocals and steady drum beats to the ears of fans since they first joined forces with Rhyme & Reason Records in 2016, shortly after the release of their debut EP in 2015. From South by Southwest to performing at the Divide Music Festival, this self-proclaimed “modern folk freak” group has won hearts across the state. And the announcement of their disintegration comes at the start of their summer tour: – The tour, beginning tonight at Lost Lake in Denver will hit Manitou Springs Wine Fest, Downtown Artery in Fort Collins, Women Rock in Denver’s Four Mile Park and New Belgium Brewery’s Techno Pagan before ending with Mountain Village in Telluride June 22 — and the band plans announce one final Colorado show before officially waving goodbye. In addition to the breakup announcement, Edison is asking fans for help in an effort to raise funds for their final album: – “When it came time to make the decision to close the door on Edison and make this our last summer we all agreed that we really didn’t want to go out without putting out an album,” Explained band member Sarah Slaton. “But [we] also weren’t sure how we were going to make it work. We just don’t have the money to get it done unless our fans a friends help us and we didn’t want to let pride get in the way.” And while the journey to get their final album released is looking to be a difficult task, the material that they have ready to record will we well worth the effort.
While the news of this threesome’s split is difficult to hear, their final shows in Denver and throughout the state will be a welcome finale to their career in Colorado’s local music scene. This won’t be the end of their individual careers in the music scene. Dustin Morris and Maxwell Hughes plan to pursue their solo careers — and as for Slaton, she has something different in mind. “Music’s not done with me, I don’t think,” said Slaton. “I really want to work on writing for other people. Now I’m going to try and do a little bit more of that, take a backseat from the stage and give a voice to someone else.” You can buy tickets to their performance at Lost Lake, tonight, May 30 here. Go here to get a taste of their sound before the show. In addition to tonight’s show Edison will play one final show this summer, and though they have yet to set a date or location, they’re aiming for August.
