A Week of GratitudeLuminous HighlightersI love layering highlighters over blush, which is why shades like Makeup Geek’s Moon Phase and Celestial remain go-tos for me, as they help add coolness to any cheek look and lots of neat shift. I’ve been loving Charlotte Tilbury’s Flawless Filter under and mixed in with foundation, and I tend to switch between the first three shades in the range with no particular favorite within those. If you’re wondering about some other picks you may have seen me wearing, they’re likely included in other posts in the series and I didn’t want to be too repetitive.

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless FilterThe formula is supposed to be a "customizable complexion booster" that can be used as a primer, highlighter, or mixed with base products. The line includes seven shades, like a more typical foundation or concealer range, but they have sheerer coverage and fine pearl, so there is some flexibility, though for added luminosity (but not altering color) all-over, one would want to choose a shade closer to their actual skin tone. It has a jumbo-sized, doe-foot applicator, which I preferred for spot highlighting and priming but isn't as functional for mixing in with base products (compared to a pump). I find that the lighter shades look very similar when mixed with foundation or layered under it (I'm wearing Fair mixed with my foundation here). ![]() Make BelieveColour Pop Make Believe Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick ($6.50 for 0.11 oz.) is a bright, periwinkle blue with cool undertones and a satin finish. The pigmentation was opaque in a single layer, while the consistency was lightweight, smooth, and spreadable but seemed to have a bit more slip. That extra slip made it pull away slightly along my lip lines and appeared “cracked” when I smiled. The liquid lipstick was comfortable to wear, as it didn’t slide around, and after an hour or so, it had minimal transfer. It stayed on well for over six hours and didn’t feel drying over time but did settle into my lip lines a bit over time. Top Dupes
Formula Overview$6.50/0.11 oz. - $59.09 Per Ounce It is supposed to be a “lightweight, bold lipstick with a satin finish”liquid lipstick that is “extra intense colour saturation” and “long-wearing,” but the brand is quick to note that it is “not completely kiss proof.” The consistency is very light to lightweight with a thin to mousse-like consistency–they feel a little heavier going on than the Ultra Matte formula, but they don’t feel heavy on. They dry down somewhat, but it isn’t a full, flat dry down like matte liquid lipsticks, and when you press your lips together, there is moderate tackiness there, but I didn’t notice any lifting or separating of color by doing so. They have been extremely long-wearing and comfortable to wear for the most part–it’s after ten hours or so that I notice my lips feeling a little dry–but six hours into wear and the colors have looked good post-meals/post-drinking. I think if you like the idea of longer-wearing, mostly matte lip color but find most liquid lipsticks too drying or too flat while not needing an ultra-hydrating formula, you might like these. ![]() Pitter PonderColour Pop Pitter Ponder Ultra Satin Liquid Lipstick ($6.50 for 0.11 oz.) is a brighter, medium pink with subtle, warm undertones and a satin finish. The color coverage was good, though it wasn’t opaque, and there was moderate slip to the formula that made it harder to apply evenly, so there were faint, but visible, streaks along the edges of my lips. The liquid lipstick separated along my lip lines with some product settling there, which was noticeable in person and worsened slightly over time. It wore well for five and a half hours and was neither drying nor hydrating. Top Dupes

In a short time, RiNo’s Bar Helix has made an impression on Denver. In just over a year, the chic space has gained a reputation for serving exquisite drinks in a uniquely seductive environment. Led by one of the cities only female sommelier’s, Bar Helix’s drink menu is just as memorable as its aesthetic. With a champagne list that would impress any wine snob and an array of cocktails that are both craft and creative, this young space has managed to land a spot on our list of Denver’s Sexiest Cocktail Bar’s, Westword‘s The Fifty Bars We Can’t Live Without 5280‘s Best Bars of 2018. And now, it’s rolling out a cocktail compilation that’s nearly unheard of in the Mile High City. The new menu consists of 12 Negronis – each unique in both taste and presentation. From the Suck My Negroni ($14, a frothy take on the classic shaken with egg white and a Negroni lollipop) to the Hot French Girl ($12, a play on the white Negroni served with Death’s Door Gin, Suze and Lillet Rosé) Bar Helix is showing Denver that there are many ways to enjoy this classic cocktail. “Nowhere else in Denver are their 12 Negroni variations available at any moment of the day,” explained owner Kendra Anderson. “… and for us, it’s a wonderful way to keep our expressions and our creativity flowing. We are incredibly excited about these drinks so it’s not work for us. It doesn’t feel like a burden to have those variations because we are fucking psyched. We love Negroni cocktails. We want everyone else to love Negroni cocktails, too. What better way than to give them a complete gamut that they can run through. When you read through the 12, you’ll see essentially no matter what kind of spirit you’re generally drawn to, there’s going to be a variation that should speak to you.” Click to view slideshow. She’s not wrong. From variations with bourbon to a sparkling Negroni made with Cava and even one with grapefruit bitters that tastes like a tropical escape — this 12 Negroni menu has something for nearly every palette. It even offers guests the opportunity to try two baby versions of any drink on the list, for those who can’t decide, or a large format Negroni served in a crystal decanter for those who like to share. And while the Negroni has not seemingly been the most popular drink for local bar-goers, this classic (and historic) drink seems to be making a come back. The most widely reported version of this drink’s origin is that it was invented in Florence, Italy in 1919. The story goes that Count Camillo Negroni asked his bartender Fosco to strengthen his favorite cocktail, the Americano (made with Campari and sparkling soda) by replacing the soda water with gin. The bartender then proceeded to add an orange garnish, rather than the lemon you’d usually get with an Americano, and the drink was born. And while the drink has not historically been a popular go-to for millennial drinkers, Anderson is aiming to change that. “When we started talking about opening Bar Helix, I thought, ‘I know there are all of these fun Negroni variations, but most people don’t know what it is in the first place’… at least 60 percent of the guests who come through our door are not sure what a Negroni is,” Anderson explained. “So that’s to me an awesome opportunity to do education. And when we talk about education, we don’t mean it in the sense of a lecture or making you feel like you’re not smart or cool. Totally the opposite. Our whole thing is, this is so cool. We can’t wait for you to know about it also.” You can try out all of these variations for yourself at 3440 Larimer street, Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Thursday from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 4 p.m to 2 a.m. and Sunday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. If you try all 12 variations this month, you’ll also get to take home a bottled cocktail of the variation of your choosing. The Trap God posted a teaser yesterday, showing his followers what they can expect with the new project, which will be the rapper’s 13th studio album since his career took off in 2006. The Fillmore show was part of “The Unusual Suspects Tour” and was set to include Smokepurpp, however, rumor had it the supporting rapper missed a flight and did not make it to the stage. Nevertheless, Gucci brought his friends Hoodrich Pablo Juan and Asian Doll to fill the bill and the crowd seemed content with the acts. The newly renovated Fillmore was full all the way back to the staggered reserved section with all ages of Gucci Mane fanatics, sipping their drinks and dancing along the trap god’s most loved bangers. Around 9:30 p.m. Gucci Mane met his fans after a hyped up break from DJ Champ and blasted into his 2016 hit “Both.” Once the opening track ended, the rapper called upon the audience to yell out, “it’s Gucci, bitch!” which was met with an echo of obedience. The giant screen behind Gucci played moving graphics, photos of the musician and all images that go along with his essence, including the iconic ice cream cone that he has tattooed on his face. During “First Day Out the Feds” a cartoon video of a larger Gucci being zapped into a muscular version played, surely paying homage to the real-life transformation he experienced after being released from prison in 2016. “First Day Out The Feds” was the first song he recorded after getting out of prison and the song was available to the public just the day after. The thing about a Gucci show is that he is able to perform an ungodly amount of verses since he is featured on a tremendous amount of tracks. “Black Beatles” was a notable verse of the night, given the extensive cult-like following the track received. Although his own songs created an uproar of their own, as proven when DJ Champ dropped the spastic beat to “Lemonade” a staple in the Gucci discography, and “St. Brick,” a song that can pull any naysayer into the holiday spirit. Occasionally, the rapper is joined by his wife Keyshia Ka’oir, but Denver was in no such luck. Her presence was missed during an eccentric “Freaky Gurl,” to which her dance moves are sure to have been memorable. Instead, Wizzop was joined by Hoodrich Pablo Juan and Asian Doll, the latter of which was decked out in green, literally from head to toe. Wop played his newest track, “Wake Up in the Sky,” which features Bruno Mars and Kodak Black, and despite its recent release, its lyrics were memorized by the audience. “Wasted” was easily the most hyped track of the night, as the entire venue went nuts and phones flew into the air to record the live rendition. Halfway through, Gucci stopped the song to give a shoutout to his friend, Shawty Lo, who passed away two years ago. After the respects were paid in the form of throwing “L’s” up in the air, the set was finished, with Gucci taking off without an encore. Although the set barely marked 40 minutes, the energy was live and the performance showcased the raw talent that has made Gucci Mane a household name and earns him the credit for creating the trap genre. Evil Genius is sure to be yet another classic for Davis and his intense fanbase is sure to show up for the next tour, and as many come after that. via https://303magazine.com/2018/11/review-gucci-mane/ Despite its perpetual summer vibes, Denver’s Adrift is getting into the seasonal spirit with a new holiday pop-up. Cleverly named “Snowdrift,” the Hawaiian bar has decked its already kitschy halls with twinkle lights and tinsel. It’s set to last now through December 29 and features not only holiday decor but and “icy-filled igloo beach bar” serving up themed drinks (and puns). Cocktails like the You Butter Not Pout ($11) made with bourbon, Jamaican rum, cinnamon, butter, grapefruit and banana, or I’ll Stop the World and Melt with You ($12) served hot with spiced rum, house falernum, lime, honey and Madeira are all on the menu. There’s even a shared drink called the Pingu’s Playground and is said to be served out of a bowl where, “an iceberg of penguins slip and slide amongst a snowy frost.” Sounds magical. Click to view slideshow. They are also rolling out a holiday three-course menu for $25/person. It comes with a miso butternut squash soup, a Hawaiian holiday rum ham and a miso fudge brownie with crème fraiche ice cream from Little Man (which also owns Adrift). Additionally, the kitchen is updating its menu overall and adding in an island salmon poke, African plantain chicken stew, Loco Moco meatloaf and a pork mixed plate. You can also get the holiday rum ham (for two or four guests) on this new menu as well. For an extra-special night, Adrift is also hosting a Mele Kalikimaka Luau featuring a “Hawaiian Christmas All-You-Can-Eat Luau” with the Kalama Polynesian Dancers on On Sunday, December 16. They say it always sells out, so reservations are required. As for the rest of the pop-up dates, Adrift isn’t requiring reservations. But knowing the popularity of similar concepts (like Miracle bar), it might be wise to call ahead. The December 16 dinner is $25 for adults and half price for kids. You can RSVP at adriftbar.com or call 303.778.8454. Adrift is located at 218 S Broadway, Denver, Colorado. Snowdrift pop-up is open now through December 29. It’s easily followed by Natasha Denona’s Darya palette, and I’ve begged Ms. Denona to release Pink Champagne as a single, because that’s the one shade that’s truly special within the palette (though I use almost all the other shades when I use Pink Champagne).
